What is the best way to set up a fireworks show to prevent accidents?

There are many things you can do to prevent accidents at a fireworks show. Our best tips are on our safety page. Here are some high-level tips:

  • Make sure you have a clean and flat surface where you can place the fireworks.
  • Make sure it is away from items that might catch fire.
  • Water down your grass prior to enjoying your fireworks show.
  • Make sure there is ample room away from the fireworks for people to interact.
  • Fireworks must be ‘bricked,’ especially the aerials. Bricking means to have cinder blocks or bricks as a holder for the firework. Place the firework cake inside of the four bricks and then ignite the firework. This helps to prevent the firework from falling over during its firing.
